Step 1 (completed) – the questionnaire
An online questionnaire was open from 27 May to 31 August 2025.
We collected 1,783 fully completed questionnaires, from co-operators belonging to 751 different worker co-operatives!
We would like to thank all respondents for taking part in this unprecedented survey.
A summary report will soon be available online for anyone interested in the results.
Step 2·1 (May 2026) – Participatory Workshop
We are inviting around ten co-operators, selected from among the 243 volunteers, to take part in a workshop at the University of Strasbourg.
The aim of this friendly, fully reimbursed day is to discuss together the most important questions to explore further in the research.
Co-operators who wish to do so will have the opportunity to conduct paired interviews (volunteer co-operator/researcher) with co-operators who agree to share their testimony, and thus become active participants in the study.
Step 2·2 (until 2028) – collecting stories
The WE-COOP project is beginning a “travelling research” phase across France, meeting co-operators.
The aim is to gather stories (in the form of recorded oral interviews) from volunteer co-operators willing to share their experience of working in worker co-operatives.
